RECAP: Breakfast on the Hill 2022

Our 6th annual Breakfast on the Hill took place in Ottawa on November 3, 2022.

This year's Breakfast included a panel with MP Julie Dabrusin (Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Natural Resources and to the Minister of Environment and Climate Change) and the Hon. Joyce Murray (Minister of Fisheries, Oceans, and the Canadian Coast Guard) in conversation with Valérie Courtois (Director, Indigenous Leadership Initiative). Their discussion focused on the opportunities for environmental progress and leadership at the upcoming UNFCCC COP27 and the UN Biodiversity Conference (COP15), and the importance of having Indigenous voices at the table.

We also heard from MP Dan Mazier (Dauphin—Swan River—Neepawa) and Soomin Han (Youth Climate Lab, Finance Lead & Alumni of GreenPAC's Parliamentary Internship for the Environment) on the importance of listening to different perspectives on environmental policy and centering youth voices in our pursuit of environmental action.

A huge thanks to all the MPs, Senators, youth and Indigenous leaders, and everyone else who attended.
