In the 2018 Ontario election, we endorsed eight candidates from across the political spectrum that have proven environmental tracks records. Working together, Canadians like you who want action on the environment donated thousands of dollars to our endorsed candidates’ campaigns. Jessica Bell
Party: NDPRiding: University-Rosedale
Status: Elected
Jessica Bell is founding executive director of the transit advocacy organization TTCRiders, who previously worked as an organizer on sustainable, healthy food systems, and on Indigenous rights and endangered forests.

Nathalie Des Rosiers is a lawyer and professor passionate about environmental justice. She spent 13 years as a member of the Environmental Appeals Board and served as an advisory board member for Evidence for Democracy.

Sylvia Jones is passionate about expanding local, organic farming, protecting our waterways and promoting recycling. She has worked across party lines with Liberal and NDP members to push for stronger environmental legislation.

Mike Schreiner, leader of the Ontario Green Party, has worked across party lines to support carbon pricing, ban hydraulic fracturing (fracking), reduce use of neonicotinoid pesticides, and gather support for provincial organic food regulations.

Peter Tabuns has spent over 30 years fighting climate action. He has served as president of Citizens for a Safe Environment, executive director of Greenpeace Canada and climate change advisor to then-NDP leader Jack Layton, where he helped draft the NDP’s Kyoto plan.

Arthur Potts is a strong proponent of carbon cap-and-trade and pollinator protection who amassed a 30-year track record in clean energy and waste reduction before he entered the provincial legislature.

Jim Bradley has been hailed as Ontario’s toughest environment minister. He introduced a Spills Bill and abatement program to protect water, strengthened the Environmental Protection Act and launched the Countdown Acid Rain program.

Shelley Carroll is passionate about transit, sustainable planning, and waste management. She promoted conservation and renewable energy in her four years on the Toronto Hydro board, served as chair of the Toronto Atmospheric Fund, and was a founding member and co-chair of the National Zero Waste Council.
